My New Electric Fireplace Entertainment Center

My husband bought me a gorgeous electric fireplace entertainment center for our bedroom for Christmas. It is fabulous and I love it so much! What a beautiful piece of furniture it is! It is a rich, dark wood piece of furniture and in the middle, it has a fireplace. It is an electric version that you simply plug in and turn on. While it’s not a real wood, or even a gas fire, it really is terrific! Plus, it turns out heat, which is great during the winter. Especially in our room, which always seems so cold. The top section is meant to be an entertainment center. We have placed a 50 inch flat screen TV on it and there is space for our Direct TV box and our blu ray player!

It is sitting against the wall, right at the end of our bed between the two posters. A perfect location for lounging in bed and watching TV! What a fantastic gift! I am thinking that we may need to, at some point, add these electric fireplace entertainment center to some other rooms in our house!

Entertaining with Patio Sets

We are having friends and family over this weekend – just to get together, as it has been way too long since we’ve all seen each other. We are a tight knit family, but sometimes life just gets in the way and we become all wrapped up in our daily responsibilities.

So, we are making the effort to have everyone come over for a fun evening of together time. We will be having dinner together, sharing drinks, and just enjoying each others’ company. Depending on the weather, we will probably sit outside. We have a beautiful patio area and have recently purchased some beautiful outdoor patio furniture. We have a patio dining set and are going out today to look at other types of patio sets – just for lounging.

I would like a patio set with nice, deep and comfy cushions, that has some tables, a couch and some chairs. That way, when we’re finished eating, we can just sit outside and be very comfortable!

A Toddler Bed for Our Son

Mark and I will go out and see what kinds of toddler beds for boys we will be able to find. While our son is not yet of age where he can sleep in a toddler bed, we feel like it is necessary for us to be ahead of the game and see what is available. If we find one that we like, we will go ahead and purchase it, and we will have it when our son is ready to sleep in it.

We found a number of toddler beds. Some were made of plastic (We will never purchase a plastic bed because they are so cheap.), some are brass, and some are made of wood. Some of the toddler beds even have cartoon characters on them. The choices are endless!

After a while, we settled on getting a plain brass bed. We did not feel like it was necessary to get anything fancy. Not to mention, our son will be too young to care. I do not think that a three year will have a bed preference. He will sleep in whatever we buy for him.

Our Fun Hang Out

Today is going to be an awesome day for certain. I am going to get together with one of my best friends that I have not seen in a while. Since she went off to college, we did not see one another as much. Sure, we did talk on the phone and stayed in touch via email and FaceBook; however, it was not at all the same as getting together to hang out all of the time, like we used to.

We have a lot of cool things planned. First, we are going to stop over at the chess shop to purchase some new chess sets with fancy chess pieces. Once we are done there, we will be going over to get us some breakfast. After we eat breakfast, we are going to go down to the river to chill out on the beach and go for a good swim. When we are done swimming and hanging out at the beach, we are going to go to get dinner at a sit down restaurant. She will be over here in twenty minutes. Thank God I am all ready and set to go.

Building up Our Chess Set Collections

I went to the antique store with my best friend Mary. Mary and I are into collecting antiques of all kinds, and going to the antique store together was a regular thing that we did.

Our antique collections were interesting to say the very least. We collected tin toys from the forties and fifties, and we also had a number of antique baby dolls. We had antique dishes, cooking wares, and furniture. We also have tons of old books from the 1800′s. Today, we were going to add more things to our collections.

The both of us browsed the store for a while to see what interesting things we could find. I found me some antique chess sets that contained some wooden chess pieces. Mary got herself some more old books. We paid for our items, and then we left the store for lunch. Mary and I were certainly happy with our purchases. Additionally, we were happy to grow our collections.
